Manage My Phone Service

Q: Can I keep my current phone number?

A: Customers who have a residential number from major wireline phone service providers are typically able to keep their phone number when they switch to Atlantic Broadband. If you use another service provider, please contact Atlantic Broadband for more information. Please note that we cannot transfer phone numbers from cellular phone providers to our wireline phone service.

Q: Can I use my existing phone, fax and answering machine?

A: The majority of cordless and non-cordless phones, caller ID units, answering machines, fax machines, alarms and teletype devices will work with Atlantic Broadband Phone Service. We suggest you test all your equipment once your Atlantic Broadband Phone Service is installed.

Q: Do you need to rewire my whole house?

A: No. We can use your existing in-home wiring.

Q: What does unlimited long distance service really mean?

A: Our unlimited long distance service lets you talk as long as you want with anyone within the United States plus Canada and Puerto Rico -- for one low monthly price!

Q: How much will I pay in taxes and fees?

A: Average taxes & fees for Atlantic Broadband Phone Service are $4.00/month. The actual amount varies by your location and usage level. Unlike providers like Verizon and Bell South, Atlantic Broadband does not charge a Subscriber Line Fee so you will save at least $5.00/month in fees.

Q: Do I have to cancel service with my current provider?

A: If you elect to keep your existing number, Atlantic Broadband will notify your current provider. If you want a new phone number, you will need to notify your current provider.

Q: How will my service be billed?

A: Your Phone Service calling plan charges will appear on your Atlantic Broadband bill each month. Additional charges for calls made to international locations, directory assistance (411) or operator services will appear as line items on the same bill.

Q: Where can I view call and transaction detail information?

A: Itemization of call history and additional charges is available through our online phone tools website located at phonemanager.atlanticbb.net.

Q: Will my number be listed in the phone book?

A: Yes, unless you request a non-published number. A non-published number is not available in either the phone directory or through Directory Assistance. There is no additional charge for requesting a non-published number.

Q: Can I receive collect calls?

A: Collect calling is available in most but not all areas. To receive a collect call, the caller must dial 1-877-790-0222 and follow the prompts.
